Condensate Pots

A Condensate Pot is a pressure-retaining device installed in steam and instrumentation lines to collect and drain condensate, foreign particles, and residue from the pipeline before they reach sensitive instruments. It plays a crucial role in protecting critical components such as pressure transmitters, pressure gauges, and other instrumentation devices from direct exposure to high-temperature steam and contaminants.

In steam applications, the condensate formed inside the line is collected in the Condensate Pot, and the residue is drained through the bottom valve connection. This helps maintain system accuracy and extends the life of instrumentation equipment. Condensate Pots can be installed in both vertical and horizontal pipeline configurations, depending on the system design and process requirements.

A Condensate Pot is especially important when installed ahead of pressure transmitters, as direct exposure to high-temperature steam can damage the diaphragm of the transmitter. By collecting condensate and creating a liquid barrier, the pot helps reduce temperature impact and improves operational safety.
